As an actress AND director you would think that it wouldn't be too difficult to do both in the same film! Well... for me I find it rather daunting. My actress brain wants and needs to be "vulnerable" and always "in the moment", surprised by what may happen next. As a director I am looking at the whole picture from point A to point B. Plus as a professional editor, my brain starts to cut the scenes in my head, looking for the best takes, angles and more! So it feels like both sides of my brain are working hard. Sometimes too hard to do any one job exactly right. So I rely on my 2nd Unit director and Assistant Directors.
In Seance Games I was fortunate to have 2nd Unit Director and Stunt Coordinator Mark Grove! In the above photo, Mark is working with me (in the red wig) and Eric Roberts, guiding us through the scene and stunts that are to be incorporated!

Great post!
